%X Forest fires are frequent events in Brazil, as in many other countries of the world. Mapping these events is very important to predict a new fire occurrence and to be better prepared to fight the fire if it happens. The Chapada Diamantina National Park´s native vegetation suffers annually with fire events. These fire events affect directly the fauna and flora of the region, compromising the integrity of the biodiversity, tourism activities and as it keeps happening, it can impact in an irreversible way the environment itself. The analysis of satellite data is very significant when it comes to forest fires detection. The aim of this paper is to map the areas affected by the fire in the years of 2014 and 2015 using satellite images. The images used in this work were released by the satellites Landsat 8 and Resoursat 2 having a spatial resolution of 30m and 24m, respectively, and were linked to the meteorological variables of precipitation and temperature of the area. In 2014, a burned area of 353,08 ha was detected and in 2015 an extent of 27535,3 ha was observed. The fire occurrences from September to December of 2015 are related to periods of lower precipitation rates of that time.
